Fashion Week Part Three
Bonjour. So, I have not posted anything new in a while. I’ve had the flu which I have to say not only generates an overall feeling of death, but also kills any sense of creativity. Here are some of my favourite looks from shows i’ve either missed or shows from Milan. The looks I have picked focus on embellishment. Gucci Gucci Prabal Gurung Mary Katrantzou Mary...

Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty
I. CAN’T. WAIT. “The Costume Institute’s exhibition honoring the late designer will be installed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City come May and include more than 100 pieces of his work, dating back to 1994 and up to last year.”

Burberry Prorsum Perfection
I can’t even find the words to express how perfect I think this collection is. I’ll let the photographs do the talking.

Fashion Week Part Deux
In my second viewing of the collections from New York and London Fashion week I have to post some favourites. I have to say the more recent shows have surprised me. There is a definite trend of longer lengths in every look. There are very few dresses and skirts that are not below the knee. I was pleased with the Michael Kors 2011 RTW collection. There was a hint of 80’s influence in there...

Winter White - It Exists!
I get so tired of hearing people that don’t know a thing about fashion say “you can’t wear white after labor day”. Actually, you’re a moron, and you can. You know what you should not wear? Those hideous Uggs, thanks. I’m not pretending I am some fashion guru here - I know this blog is purely my own little creative outlet and that my grammar sucks and i’m...

Philly Food Concepts, Disaster or Delicious?
Behold… The Cheesesteak Cookie. Let’s face facts…I would probably eat this, but it doesn’t exactly sound appealing. I can’t decide if this is delicious or a disaster until I try it.   Next up we have the Kandy Kake Sliders. I don’t even know what to say about this. I would like to think that I consider myself a junk food connoisseur, but it truly looks...

Wardrobe Muses
In my next life i’m going to have the combined wardrobe of Olivia Palermo and Diane Kruger. They have the most impeccable style. Few people make me as insanely jealous as these two. It’s slightly depressing, but I do thank them for their style influence that forces me to try harder when i’m standing in front of my closet, uninspired.

Oh my Marc Jacobs...
The Marc Jacobs collection - where do I begin!? It was so nice to see something different from middle parted hair, bell bottoms, clogs, and “new hippie” styles that have taken over fashion the last 2 years. It was chic, French, sexy, structured, prim, elegant, and overall brilliant. The textured tights were perfect. Red and blue again were highlight colors in a sea of black and white...

Le Haute Dog
Saturday I had quite the disappointing lunch at Granite Hill, the “STARR” restaurant at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. I will not get into my list of complaints because…well I don’t think you care, and also because one thing was pretty fabulous. Le Haute Dog. Even if the sandwich wasn’t that impressive, what a fantastic name. Mixing meat with terms used in...

L'Orient des Femmes vu par Christian Lacroix
Christian Lacroix, the designer that gives me goosebumps with his unbelievable work, has combined fashion, anthropology and art for the L’Orient des Femmes - Women in Orient, an exhibition at the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris. I would probably give my left leg to go see this exhibit. Now for some favourite Lacroix: This above is hanging in my bathroom.

Californication: David Duchovny is sexy?
Today I would like to discuss the trash-tastic show, Californication.             I had many people in my life telling me that I would love this show, but there was something about a womanizing Mulder (David Duchovny, obviously) that turned me off – that is – until I started watching.             My man sat me down to watch it telling me that I needed a mindless show, especially after...

Still unsure...
I figured I should finally start a blog. I pretend to know about fashion, and I rant about anything and everything. Carry My Suitcase is a pun on my last name which is too long and ridiculous to mention. Anyways, enjoy reading about fashion, my bizarre opinions, and of course meat!
