I just wanted to say a quick thank you to all of my followers. I started this a few months ago not having any idea how it would go or what I would end up posting, but I have a significant amount of followers and i’m so thankful! You all make me feel like what I post is relevant and enjoyable and that is all I could hope for.
For two days now I have not been able to get the documentary, The Cove, out of my head. I have cried at precisely five movies, I don’t get emotional from film often. When I saw The Cove I was sobbing hysterically and shaking in disbelief and horror. I usually put off watching films that I know will upset me, but my friends and I decided we could learn something by watching it and decided to.
I will not go into detail of what occurs but it is something I believe ever human being in this world needs to see. I for one had no idea that something this catastrophic was happening. I am disgusted by what I watched and am invested in finding ways to help make it stop. I don’t really believe in much of religion, but I do believe in the universe, earth, and nature. To know this is happening due to the hands of man is disgusting.
I signed the petition and you can too. You don’t need to donate to help, just signing your name takes part in stopping this heinous act.
Just had the pleasure of seeing Florence + The Machine live in Philly. I have seen many a show but never have I heard such an epic voice effortlessly belt out over thousands of people. Good god she was amazing.
I’ve traveled a great deal, seeing as it’s my main hobby I wanted to post some photos of places I have visited across the Atlantic Ocean. I am definitely leaving some out to not make this too long. I am so proud of where i’ve been and that i’ve had the chance to live and spend so much time in some of these cities. I am attracted to people who travel and crave adventure, this is probably why I fell in love with my fiance’ who on our first date told me of when he was held hostage in Morocco. Sexy indeed.
I’m looking forward to adding many many more destinations to the below in years to come.
I’m marrying a man that works in film. What this means is that he mentions a lot of directors, producers, and writers that i’ve never heard of. I usually just nod and smile and pretend to know what he’s talking about while I use the google application on my phone to try and catch up. I never have favourite directors because I have favourite movies, actors, and actresses, and that’s about it - like most people.
I’ve posted a blog about Amelie before, it being my favourite movie and touched on the creative mind of Jean-Pierre Jeunet. I have seen all of his films - except for Alien Resurrection, I can’t get into alien movies (especially not Signs, they come to a planet made mostly of water without knowing it kills them!? COME ON…sorry for the spoiler).
Moving on, I have never been able to fully wrap my head around how a mind like Jeunet’s can work. I believe I am a creative person. I can paint, i’m artistic, I play piano, I see beauty in simple things, i’m pretty good with photography, fashion design, hair and make-up, etc. Yet with all of that I still can’t comprehend the genius that this man must be for the gorgeous creepy perfection he comes up with in his films. He makes a movie every 3 or more years. Below I have some stills from: Amelie, A Very Long Engagement, Micmacs, Delicatessen, and City of Lost Children.
